ArtStreet Café is the only full-service café located in the heart of the student neighborhood on the University of Dayton campus. The café offers a wide variety of panini and bagel sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, pastries, breakfast items, smoothies, The Blend’s espresso product line, and gourmet Boston Stoker coffee. Located in the ArtStreet Living Learning Arts Center Complex, ArtStreet Café is part of a artistic, alternative outlet for students. Providing a weekly open-mic night, a variety of books on its shelves, and a constantly changing art exhibit on its walls, the Cafe is the perfect place to study, host a group meeting, or simply relax. ArtStreet Café opened on November 1, 2004. The concept of a “bagel shop” was created by Dayton Student Agencies, who later became part of Flyer Enterprises. This concept became ArtStreet Café and was developed in collaboration with the Living Learning Arts Center Committee in 2000. As plans for the ArtStreet Complex developed to revitalize the heart of the student neighborhood, the Café became the cornerstone for a successful student residence complex. ArtStreet Café is financed through a profit sharing model with the University.

For students studying in the library, the nearest location for a refreshing beverage or snack is The Blend, located on the ground floor of Roesch Library in the Learning Teaching Center. The Blend serves gourmet espresso drinks, fruit and espresso Blendies, locally roasted Boston Stoker coffees, freshly-baked pastries from Ele Cake Company, ArtStreet Café wraps and much more. The Blend also sells individual one pound bags of coffee beans in each of their featured Boston Stoker blends. The coffee shop offers high-top tables and booths that students use for studying, group meetings, and simply to hang out. This independent venture accept Flyer Express, cash, or credit. The Blend is the oldest operating Flyer Enterprises’ venture. Opened on January 21, 2000 in conjunction with the opening of the Learning Teaching Center, the concept of the coffee shop was proposed by Dr. Deborah Bickford, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Learning Initiatives. Dr. Bickford proposed the idea of incorporating a student-run operation when planning the LTC proposal and blueprint. Dayton Student Agencies, which later became Flyer Enterprises, created the concept and managed the coffee shop. FE has full financial ownership of the Blend.

The Blend Express opened in September 2002. The concept for an expansion of The Blend through the addition of a division in the School of Business Administration was proposed by Dr. Deb Bickford, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Learning Initiatives. The School granted approval and funding for the venture, and Flyer Enterprises now has full financial ownership of TBE. In the summer of 2008, the Atrium and TBE went under renovations to provide students with a fresh new place to study, get-together or hang out between classes.

Conveniently located in the University of Dayton’s RecPlex, The CHILL is a snack bar that offers fat-free frozen yogurt, fresh-fruit smoothies, bottled drinks, energy and protein bars and a variety of other healthy snack options. Low-calorie turkey wraps from FE Catering are the newest addition to the menu to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you are looking for extra vitamins or more protein, choose from a selection of supplements to give your smoothie that extra boost. The CHILL opened on January 4, 2006 in UD’s RecPlex as the third joint venture between UD’s Dining Services and Flyer Enterprises. The menu initially only offered fat-free frozen yogurt, bottled drinks, and bars, but expanded in January 2007 to include smoothies and the protein supplements. Currently, The CHILL also offers a variety of supplements as well as a range of new health-conscious snacks.

Located in Kennedy Union, UD’s student union, The Galley is the perfect place to pick up a tasty treat! Stop by in between classes for a coffee or indulge in a milkshake and stay for awhile. With the expansive location in the Hangar, The Galley is the ideal place to catch up with friends over ice cream or work on some homework with a hot chocolate. The delectable menu offers an assortment of ice cream flavors and specialty shakes, hot pretzels, Bosco Sticks, and cookies. As a joint venture with UD’s Dining Services, The Galley accepts Flyer Express, meal plan, cash and credit. In August 2004, The Galley opened alongside the Hangar in Kennedy Union. Initially, the menu primarily offered ice cream, but expanded to include items such as specialty shakes, Bosco Sticks, cookies, and coffee. In 2010, the Director of Merchandise position was created which allows The Galley to place a greater emphasis upon marketing. With 25 employees and three managers, the Galley is known for its strong culture with the phrase “Galley Love.” The Galley employees are always trying to show their “Galley Love” by getting to know their customers and better serve them through great promotions such as flavors of the month for ice cream and coffee.

The newest division of Flyer Enterprises was established to solve the storage issues that students face during their summer months away from UD. In April of 2011, FE Storage launched its pilot program for Summer 2011, storing the belongings of the first 100 customers of this unique service. The pilot program for the Summer 2011 offered students the option to purchase two different size boxes, either 3 cubic feet or 4.5 cubic feet. In addition to belongings stored in boxes, individuals also have the option to purchase storage space for items such as mini- fridges, futons, bean bag chairs, couches, tables, rugs, and other large items. Stuart’s Landing is a one-stop-shop convenience store located in Stuart Hall. It’s the ideal place to stop in and grab something to eat or drink- morning, noon, or night! Stuart’s Landing opened as Rudy’s on the Hill as the fourth Flyer Enterprises division in February 2001 It was fully financed by a loan and under financial ownership of Flyer Enterprises at the time. In August 2005, the division was transformed into Stuart’s Landing when it became a joint venture with UD’s Dining Services. Stuart’s Landing was remodeled during the summer of 2010. The new layout of the store is much more open and inviting to customers, greatly improving their experience.

Flyer Enterprises 10th and newest division, The Jury Box, opened its doors October 17th 2013 after being acquired from the university’s Dining Services. Located in the basement of Keller Hall, The Jury Box strives to provide delicious meals and snacks for both law students, undergraduates, and faculty. The Jury Box is Flyer Enterprises first fully-independent division, financed from the company’s retained earnings.
