The Blend is the oldest operating Flyer Enterprises’ venture. Opened on January 21, 2000 in conjunction with the opening of the Learning Teaching Center, the concept of the coffee shop was proposed by Dr. Deborah Bickford, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Learning Initiatives. Dr. Bickford proposed the idea of incorporating a student-run operation when planning the LTC proposal and blueprint. Dayton Student Agencies, which later became Flyer Enterprises, created the concept and managed the coffee shop. FE has full financial ownership of the Blend.
