Flyer Spirit, a University of Dayton retail store specializing in UD-themed merchandise, is the newest venture of Flyer Enterprises. The store offers apparel and gift items appealing to the Dayton Community, University alumni and students. Flyer Spirit’s Web site, www.flyerspirit.com, provides consumers the opportunity to purchase products online. The store features a variety of Greek merchandise, UD kitchenware and custom clothing. Director of Operations: Julie Schenck

Julie Schenck joined the FE team her freshman year at the Galley, where she worked until her junior year. After a winter internship, she took a job at Flyer Spirit for the summer, and decided to stay at the retail store for the upcoming school year. As the director of operations, Julie works closely with the president of retail and director of merchandise to continue to improve inventory levels, employee/customer relations, and help Flyer Spirit market to the community. 

Director of Merchandising: Jason Petermann

Jason Petermann is junior entrepreneurship and marketing major.  Jason began his journey with Flyer Enterprises as a sales associate working at the Blend in the fall of 2008.  He has been the director of merchandise for Flyer Spirit since March 2010.  Jason’s responsibilities include the creation and implementation of marketing strategies, building awareness of new and existing products through promotional events, connecting Flyer Spirit to the Dayton community, and coordinating the purchasing of goods sold at Flyer Spirit.

Store Manager: Keri Crist-Wagner

Keri, a University of Massachusetts graduate, is the only non-student employee of Flyer Enterprises. As the store manager of Flyer Spirit, Keri is responsible for the store’s daily operations, inventory purchasing and management and store maintenance.

Division History:

Flyer Spirit opened September 6, 2007. The retail store is a joint venture between the University Bookstore and Flyer Enterprises and the only venture off the University of Dayton campus. The concept for a retail division was developed in 2001, and concept for Flyer Spirit was created in 2006 in collaboration with the University Bookstore.
